Accessory fruits of Kumaun

 Today I'm Posting about two "accessory fruits" of Kumaun..These two are easily available throughout the hilly area of Kumaun.

1-Hissaluu.

 Hissalu..is among the most easily available in Kumaun region.It's occurrence starts at very low altitude in Kumaun.It's very sweet and juicy..        

 

2.Kaafal.

Kaafal

 Kaafal can be found in forest situated at very high altitude.

ready to pick time:march-may.

It's tree is very rare in forest and there are lots of myths  regarding the Seedling of It.And it is believed that it's Seedling can't be done by any one at home.or at garden..It will grow automatically.

• Gangotri devi:- Gangotri devi is an assistant cook in primary school at Didihat(Pithorgarh). She is now guardian of two girls. Those girls were alone when their parent leaved them and got married to others.

Even their own mother refused to take care of them.She told that she is quit happy with her new family.

So now Gangotri devi is new mother for these two girls.Gangotri devi earns only 500/mth but still she willing to take care of them. She wants to give them best education as far as possible.

What and where is Kumaun:- In north-west of India, Uttrakhand is a small state.Uttrakhand is devided into two region from it's ancient time.
1:-Kumaun
2:-Garhwal.
Kumaun has six districts -
1. Almora
2. Bageshawer
3. Champawat
4. Nainital
5. Udham Singh Nagar

Garhwal has seven districts namely­-Chomli,Dehradun,Haridwar,Pauri,Rudrapraag ,Tehari,Uttarkashi.

History of Kumaun
The history of Kumaun can be devided in terms of following :-

1. Katyuree rule 2500 B.C. To 700

2. Chand rule 700 To 1790

3. Gorkha rule 1790 To 1815

4. British rule 1815 To 1947

Out of these Katyuree,Chand were dynasty or small period of rule by different ruler.
